Did you know that technology has been in the classroom for centuries? This is absolutely true except it didn’t look like what we are used to seeing these days as technology yet it was innovative just the same. Technology can and has been used to enhance communication between teachers and parents, students and the global community through computers, televisions, typewriters, printers, even pencils (Dunn, 2011). These innovations have made it easier for educators to instruct their students as well as communicate with those outside of the classroom. In today’s world, with the new technology the classroom doesn’t end inside the four walls of the classroom. Nor does it end when the child leaves the classroom. No longer shut out from thigs that happen outside the classroom, global technology makes it to where every classroom, teacher and student, can go beyond the four walls and can penetrate the threshold of a school on the opposite side of the globe.
